An alum of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, with a BA in Music and English Literature (specializing in Guitar Performance, Songwriting, and Film Scoring), Guitar Strength instructor and Guitar World Magazine online contributor Scott Marano has spent 22 years playing the guitar and exploring its myriad possibilities, practicing his craft through numerous professional recordings and performances.
Scott has also studied one-on-one with Jon Finn and Joe Stump, and taken master classes with George Lynch, Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci, Michael Angelo Batio, and Guthrie Govan, among others.
In addition to exploring his passion through creating music on his chosen instrument, Scott has also spent 19 years sharing his passion with students through one-on-one private guitar instruction.
Now, after years of giving instruction in his specialization of Advanced Rock Guitar, Scott has expanded his practice to include students of all ages interested in exploring the exciting world of the Guitar in all styles.
Guitar instructor Scott M. is a Berklee alum and Guitar World magazine contributor (writer of the featured cover lesson of the February 2019 issue, featured cover lesson of the April 2019 issue, and writer of the #1 lesson in guitarworld.com’s “Top 10 Guitar Lessons of 2015” https://www.guitarworld.com/lessons/top-10-guitar-lessons-2015 https://www.guitarworld.com/author/scott-marano) with 33 years experience with the guitar and 30 years teaching experience with students on both acoustic and electric guitar from beginner to advanced/pro.
Rates are $60 for an hour, $50 for 45 min, and $40 for a half hour for in-studio in Portsmouth or Skype.
Guitar Strength provides extensive guitar repair and set-up services in Rhode Island in addition and as a supplement to it's core of private guitar instruction. Guitar repair, maintenance, and set up work can be performed as "drop-off" work (with quick turnaround!) or as a one-on-one lesson in the proper procedures of performing the "secret" operations that will keep your guitar playing great for years to come!
Guitar Strength offers the following guitar repair, maintenance, and set up services:
-String Change and basic set-up, plus lube and polish
-Floating Tremolo set-up
-Fret leveling, crowning, polishing/ fret repair
-Truss rod adjustment
-resetting of warped necks
-electronics repair and installation. (Thorough electronics cleaning and testing are free with every set up.)
-String gauge change (intonation, action, bridge, and neck adjustment)
-misc. nut modification and installation
-misc. tremolo modification and installation
-pickup installation
-tuner repair/replacement
Any other problems not mentioned can also be repaired. As long as you haven't smashed it on purpose (and even if you did), THERE IS NO ISSUE WITH A GUITAR THAT GUITAR STRENGTH CANNOT FIND A WAY TO FIX!
